The Role We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Accounting Services team. This is a client-facing role where you will work directly with a variety of real estate clients, managing accounting deliverables, maintaining strong client relationships, and helping keep priorities, deadlines, and day-to-day accounting activities on track. You will work closely with property managers, client stakeholders, and internal Lynx teams to support the financial performance of real estate portfolios. In addition to strong property accounting and Yardi experience, we are looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership, communicating directly with clients, managing multiple priorities, and helping lead the delivery of accounting services. Unlike a traditional property accounting role, this position offers exposure to multiple clients, property types, and business environments. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced accounting and Yardi professionals while supporting a variety of real estate organizations across North America. Responsibilities Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Complete month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation. Perform bank reconciliations, cash management activities, and account analysis. Process property tax payments, tax adjustments, and annual CAM reconciliations. Review and maintain lease information within Yardi. Support construction accounting activities, including Yardi Job Cost. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, lender reporting, and audit requests. Act as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, building strong relationships and maintaining clear communication around priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. Manage accounting workflows and client deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met and issues are addressed proactively. Work closely with property managers, clients, and internal teams to coordinate priorities and support day-to-day accounting operations. Respond to client inquiries and provide financial reporting, analysis, and accounting guidance as required. Coordinate with internal team members to follow up on outstanding items and support consistent and timely service delivery. Provide guidance and support to accounting team members as needed. Utilize Yardi and related tools to maintain accurate accounting records and reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of property accounting experience. Minimum 3 years of Yardi experience. Experience with Yardi Job Cost and construction accounting. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience preparing financial statements and account reconciliations. Experience working directly with clients and managing client relationships in an accounting, consulting, managed services, or similar environment. Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and client expectations. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. Preferred Qualifications CPA designation, CPA candidate status, or equivalent accounting qualification. Experience supporting commercial real estate portfolios. Experience with Yardi Construction Manager. Experience with Yardi Spreadsheet Reporting. Experience with Power BI or other reporting tools. Experience working within a consulting, managed services, or outsourced accounting environment. Bilingual English and French.
