Payroll Specialist
About the role
ROLE
We are currently seeking a hands-on, tech savvy Payroll Specialist to join the downtown Calgary head office on a temporary basis to support the day-to-day activities of the Payroll team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurate and timely full cycle employee payroll processing and reporting.

Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll, privacy legislation, and organizational policies and procedures.

Track, audit, and reconcile timesheets; resolve discrepancies and queries promptly.

Prepare and distribute quarterly and ad-hoc time off reports.

On and offboarding activities.

Provide excellent user support for internal payroll systems and processes.

Respond to and resolve employee pay queries and other ad hoc payroll related activities.

Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications

PCP designation or nearly completed all courses combined with experience.
Experience
-
Five or more years of related experience.
Skills and Knowledge

Working knowledge of employment standards and payroll legislation in BC, AB, and ON.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, nested formulas).

Superior attention to detail.

Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.

Excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking.

Explorer Eclipse software experience considered an asset but not required.

Self-motivated, results driven, and able to work well under time constraints.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a temporary position based at our Calgary office with a 5-day work week, 8-hour days.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Payroll Specialist reports to the Payroll Manager.
