Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager, Accounting – Family Office, the Accountant is responsible to report on the day-to-day operation of an assigned group of entities.

Requirements for success:

• College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

• 2 years’ experience in general accounting

• Strong organizational skills

• Strong analytical and accounting skills with excellent attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

• Ability to solve problems in a professional manner

• Ability to deal with sensitive issues

• Proficiency using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint)

• A self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Displays a positive work attitude and enthusiasm

• Thrives in a fast-paced work environment

• Knowledge of Yardi software an asset

Your new roles and responsibilities:

As an accurate and detail-oriented individual, the Accountant is responsible for the full cycle of accounting duties of the assigned entities within the portfolio:

• Monthly Financial Statement preparation

• Reviewing monthly variances and providing explanations

• Performing monthly account analysis and reconciliation

• Performing bank reconciliations

• Monitoring cash balances

• Preparing monthly HST remittances

• Preparing and processing journal entries

• Reviewing intercompany loans and calculating interest

• Setting up bank transactions for approval by senior management

Desirable skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in French
• Experience using Yardi or a similar database

This a full-time permanent position. This is a new position.
