Your New Role As Manager, Fund Accounting – Real Assets, you will be a key member of the Real Assets Fund Accounting team, responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality NAVs and financial reporting for private real estate and private equity structures. You will lead, coach, and develop onshore and offshore team members while acting as a technical point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders. The broader team comprises approximately 30 professionals across Toronto and the U.S. (Jersey City and Florida), supported by offshore resources. Key responsibilities include: Producing and reviewing NAV packages for real asset funds Providing technical accounting and industry expertise internally and to clients Coordinating with Operations, Financial Reporting, Tax, Investor Relations, and external auditors Managing and overseeing the external audit process Reviewing partnership agreements, PPMs, and fund documentation Leading the implementation of new fund structures within accounting systems Coaching, training, and developing onshore and offshore staff Reviewing trading and operational processes related to real assets Preparing ad hoc reporting and supporting wider business initiatives This role offers strong visibility and a clearly defined progression path, with scope to advance to Vice President and ultimately Executive Vice President over time.
What You’ll Need to Succeed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics 5+ years of public and/or private accounting experience 7+ years’ experience within real estate and/or private equity Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS Experience with fair value reporting for real estate investments and debt structures Practical experience with private equity and real estate fund accounting Exposure to multi-family and commercial real estate accounting Experience preparing full sets of financial statements, including notes Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Proven project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines Experience using accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, Investran, or similar Advanced Excel skills
