Résumé du poste
The Role Treewalk is a full-service accounting firm serving a diverse client base across public companies, private enterprises, First Nations, and government entities. We combine deep technical expertise with a forward-thinking culture. We're looking for someone to take support Treewalk's internal finance function as the firm continues to grow. We're looking for a Senior Accountant to take charge and own the month-end close process, including management reporting. This is a hands-on role working closely with Treewalk's executive team. You'll have the opportunity to help shape and improve our internal finance processes and systems as the firm grows. What Your Days Will Look Like • Own the month-end close process: prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting working papers on a consistent monthly timeline. • Produce monthly management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, with variance analysis against budget/forecast • Prepare and file GST/HST returns and remittances accurately and on time • Manage payroll remittances and related CRA compliance requirements • Oversee day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor payments, invoicing, and collections follow-up • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations across all accounts • Manage expense documentation and receipt collection, including administering our DEXT workflow • Maintain and support Treewalk's QuickBooks Online environment, and help ensure accurate data flow between Karbon (practice management) and QBO • Assist with year-end working papers and support the external accountant/auditor as needed • Identify and help implement process improvements and automation opportunities within the finance function • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting support as required What you bring to the role • A degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field. • CPA designation or CPA candidate is considered an asset • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle month-end close experience • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online; experience with Karbon or similar practice management software is an asset. • Experience with DEXT (or similar expense/receipt management software) is considered an asset. • Solid Excel skills and comfort working with financial data. • Working knowledge of GST/HST filing requirements and CRA payroll remittance obligations. • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage recurring monthly deadlines. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently Who We Are Treewalk is Vancouver-born, scaling nationwide, and obsessed with turning capital-markets complexity into clarity. We give TSX-V, CSE, NASDAQ, and OTC issuers an end-to-end disclosure engine—so they can focus on growth while we keep them bullet-proof in the spotlight. But labels like “accounting firm” don’t capture our DNA. Picture a tech startup powered by CPAs: Holacracy over hierarchy – Ideas outrank titles, and ownership lives on every desk. Industry-agnostic curiosity – From biotech to blockchain to next-gen retail, if it’s innovative, we’re already in it—or will be tomorrow. Growth at warp speed – One of Canada’s fastest-rising advisory practices, we set audacious goals, then sprint past them. Training ground for tomorrow’s CFOs – Whether you’re two years post-designation or a seasoned controller, Treewalk is where accountants level-up for industry roles and capital-markets strategy. The Values That Power Us Mastery: We hunt knowledge relentlessly and build expertise into every engagement. Support: No one goes it alone—collaboration is our default setting. Ownership: We celebrate wins and own slip-ups with equal conviction. Kaizen: Continuous improvement isn’t a buzzword; it’s our daily operating system. Annual Salary - $75,000 - $90,000
