Accounting Technician

TPH is a growing mechanical contractor with operations across Edmonton, Westlock and Kelowna, as well as several related companies. This position will work closely with our Controller and support accounting across the organization. What You’ll Do Accounting and Reporting • Complete full-cycle accounting for multiple related companies • Support monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting • Reconcile fixed assets, prepaid accounts and shareholder loans • Assist with job costing, WIP reporting and labour burden calculations • Prepare T4s, T5018s and GST remittances Billing and Collections • Complete progress billing, customer invoicing and related-company rent rolls • Process bill payments and maintain the pre-cheque register • Prepare CAM statements and assist with commercial collections • Cross-train on accounts receivable, payment posting and deposits Cash and Reconciliations • Prepare cash budgets ahead of cheque runs • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations across related companies • Cross-train on inventory processes and provide coverage when required Team and Process Support • Provide project details and reporting support to the Controller • Participate in monthly finance and management meetings • Help document and improve accounting procedures • Support and mentor other team members when needed What You Bring • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience • Accounting certificate or diploma • Experience with full-cycle accounting • Understanding of job costing and WIP reporting • Experience preparing T4s, T5018s and GST remittances • Strong Excel skills • Construction or multi-company accounting experience is an asset • Strong attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of deadlines • A collaborative approach and willingness to step in where needed Why Join TPH • Competitive compensation and benefits • A collaborative, growing team • Exposure to multiple companies and areas of accounting • The opportunity to help strengthen processes as the organization grows Sound like you? The Accounting Technician will manage full-cycle accounting for multiple related companies, including financial reporting, job costing, and tax remittances. They are also responsible for billing, collections, and performing bank and credit card reconciliations.

Candidates must have over 3 years of progressive accounting experience and an accounting certificate or diploma. Proficiency in Excel and experience with construction or multi-company accounting is highly desired.
