Tax Manager – Public Accounting Industry: Public Accounting Location: Hamilton Area, Ontario Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3–4 days in office Compensation: Up to $150K base, flexible for exceptional candidates We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join a growing and collaborative public accounting firm in the Hamilton area. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong tax professional who is ready to take the next step into management or for an experienced Tax Manager looking for a more supportive, relationship-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Canadian corporate and personal taxation, along with the ability to manage client relationships, review tax files, and mentor accounting professionals. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with business owners and individual clients while taking on increasing responsibility within a stable, long-term team. Key Responsibilities Manage and review Canadian corporate and personal tax returns. Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients. Review complex tax files and ensure accuracy and compliance. Work directly with clients to understand their financial and tax needs. Develop strong, long-term client relationships. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff. Assist team members with technical tax questions and challenging files. Identify tax planning opportunities and provide practical recommendations. Manage multiple client engagements and ensure deadlines are met. Support partners and senior leadership with client matters and special projects. Help improve internal processes and contribute to the continued growth of the tax practice. What We're Looking For CPA designation preferred, but strong relevant experience will also be considered. Solid experience in Canadian corporate and personal taxation. Previous tax review experience. Strong client advisory and communication skills. Experience mentoring or supervising accounting staff. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and technical tax knowledge. Professional, approachable, and client-focused attitude. Experience working in a Canadian public accounting firm. Growth Opportunity This position is also open to Senior Tax Accountants who are ready to move into a management role.
