As the Family Accountant and Property Manager you will oversee the financial, administrative, and property management needs of a family office. Supporting a family-run business that includes an operating entity as well as multiple holding and trust companies, We are seeking an experienced and highly organized candidate who will bring a strong background in accounting, financial management, and administration, coupled with experience managing real estate assets and business operations. Key Responsibilities: Accounting & Financial Management: Manage all accounting functions, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for family-owned entities and trusts. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Oversee tax planning and compliance, working closely with external tax advisors to ensure proper structuring of family holdings. Reconcile bank and investment accounts, ensuring accuracy in financial records. Ensure adherence to financial regulations and best practices. Note: This role does not include any payroll responsibilities. Administration & Family Office Support: Provide administrative support to the family, including document management, scheduling, and coordination of legal and financial matters. Maintain records for family trusts, wills, and estate planning. Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Liaise with external advisors, including lawyers, accountants, and investment managers, to facilitate strategic planning and asset management. Support philanthropic activities and charitable donations, ensuring proper documentation and reporting. Manage personal bill payments for the family, ensuring timely processing and record-keeping. Collect and organize all necessary documentation for the family’s personal tax returns, working closely with accountants and tax advisors. Property & Asset Management: Oversee the management of residential, commercial, and investment properties owned by the family. Coordinate property maintenance, renovations, and tenant relations. Monitor lease agreements, rental income, and property-related expenses. Ensure compliance with property regulations, insurance policies, and tax obligations. Conduct periodic financial reviews of property investments and recommend improvements. Collect rent payments from tenants, ensuring timely deposits and record-keeping. Qualifications & Experience: Professional Background: Minimum 10-15 years of experience in accounting, finance, or family office management, with a focus on multi-entity structures, holding companies, and trusts. Education: CPA, CA, or equivalent designation preferred. Industry Knowledge: Experience working with family-owned businesses, trusts, and real estate investments. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage), Excel, and financial reporting tools. Property Management Experience: Strong understanding of real estate financials, lease management, and property administration. Communication & Discretion: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with high-net-worth individuals and trusted advisors while maintaining confidentiality. Problem-Solving: Ability to handle complex financial and administrative matters with precision and efficiency. Organization & Attention to Detail: Strong multitasking skills with an ability to prioritize effectively.
