A well-established global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join its Finance team. This is a key role supporting inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing cost analysis, and financial reporting across multiple entities and international operations. Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Cost Accountant will act as a finance business partner to Operations and will take ownership of inventory valuation, costing, analysis, controls, and related financial reporting. The successful candidate will also play an important role in an upcoming SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud transition, serving as the business process owner for inventory accounting and product costing. Key Responsibilities Own the monthly inventory close, reconciliations, variance analysis, and inventory reserves Maintain and strengthen standard costing, including BOMs, routings, labour, machine rates, and overhead absorption Analyze PPV, scrap, inventory adjustments, manufacturing costs, and cost trends Manage WIP accounting and investigate valuation and transaction issues Support product costing, new product launches, ECNs, VAVE initiatives, and cost savings programs Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, IT, and Finance Support inventory forecasting, budgeting, transfer pricing, and make-versus-buy analysis Lead inventory and costing testing, master data validation, training, and process optimization during the ERP transition Support year-end audit and inventory count activities Supervise and mentor a Junior Financial Analyst Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or related discipline 7–10+ years of progressive cost accounting or manufacturing finance experience Manufacturing experience is required Strong hands-on experience in a standard cost environment Experience with standard costing, BOMs, routings, WIP, absorption costing, PPV, and inventory controls Strong Excel and analytical skills Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud experience is an asset ERP implementation, conversion, testing, or process standardization experience is an asset Experience supporting multiple sites, legal entities, or international operations is an asset CPA/CMA, CPIM/APICS, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar designation is an asset What’s Offered Competitive compensation based on experience Hybrid work arrangement — 3 days in office / 2 days remote RRSP matching Comprehensive health, dental, and extended benefits 3 weeks' vacation plus 2 floater days Education reimbursement and professional development opportunities Employee Assistance Program Company events and team-focused culture Opportunity to work within a global manufacturing environment and contribute to a significant ERP transformation
