Position: Financial Analyst (12-18 Month Contract with possibility of Permanent) Location: Vancouver, Canada Department: Finance and Accounting Reports to: Manager, Financial Reporting & Accounting Position Summary We are searching for a candidate with experience in external reporting, internal management reporting and the quarterly financial close process. Primary responsibilities include preparing financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS, internal management reporting and reporting to our infrastructure owners Major Responsibilities External Reporting Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and related SEC filings (Forms 6-K and 20-F) under US GAAP for Seapeak LLC. Prepare various subsidiary statutory financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS. Assist in the implementation of US GAAP and SEC regulation changes. Prepare audit documentation and respond to external and internal audit queries on a timely basis. Complete XBRL filings as required for Seapeak LLC. Internal Reporting Prepare quarterly reports for submission to Seapeak’s infrastructure owners. Prepare quarterly variance analysis and investigate unusual or unexpected movements. Prepare accounting entries and various account reconciliations, including for complex and non-routine areas. Assist in preparing support and research for complex accounting transactions, as required. Participate in projects as required by management. Identify and implement process changes and improvements. Liaise and collaborate with accounting team members, joint-venture partners, service providers, international offices and cross-functional departments. Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) University Business Degree including a professional accounting designation. Minimum of three years’ experience in the accounting field. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and previous experience researching and applying standards. Experience compiling financial statements. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong computer software skills (MS Excel and MS Word). Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently, as well as with others, with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment. Preferred: Exposure to Oracle ERP Cloud, Oracle FCC or WDesk. Shipping industry experience. Compensation The typical hiring range for this position is $85,000 – $105,000 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
