Exciting Career Opportunity at RFNOW- Inventory and Capital Assets Accountant Location: Remote, with an individual living within 3 hours of Virden, Manitoba Employment Type: Full-time Job Description The Inventory & Capital Asset Accountant is responsible for managing inventory accounting, capital asset tracking, and related financial processes. This role ensures accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of inventory and fixed assets while supporting procurement and payment cycles within NetSuite. Objectives of the Inventory Accountant position: · Collaborate with the Inventory Management team to align physical inventory needs with accounting policies and records · Ensure inventory records are received and inventory adjustments are performed in a timely manner · Maintain supporting documentation for journal entries · Uphold and improve accuracy and financial integrity · Minimize discrepancies through timely identification and resolution of errors · Continuously improve inventory and capital asset accounting processes for increased efficiency and quality of information · Increase automation to improve quality of work and decrease human error · Provide recommendations for improvements to the capital asset and inventory accounting processes · Maintain inventory and capital asset schedules · Ensure all capital assets and inventory are properly recognized per accounting policies · Recommend improvements for maintaining schedules and reconciliations · Support periodic asset verification and audit requirements General Responsibilities: · Perform daily accounting activities including invoice entries and payment batches · Prepare and record accrued purchases for goods and services received but not yet invoiced monthly · Ensure inventory and capital asset entries are accurate and performed in a timely manner · Maintain proper classification and capitalization of assets in accordance with company policy · Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of inventory and capital asset accounts to ensure timely and accurate representation on the balance sheet · Address inventory and capital asset discrepancies and promptly resolve · Maintain internal controls and ensure all required authorizations and supporting documentation are included in transactions · Maintain and improve the company’s accounting systems and financial policies relating to inventory and capital assets · Prepare capital assets schedules for audits and internal purposes as required · Other reasonable duties as required to support the finance team and business in general Qualifications: · 3+ years of experience with inventory and capital asset accounting · High level of proficiency with Excel for reconciliations, data analysis, and reporting · Knowledge of NetSuite for inventory and capital asset transactions is considered an asset · Inventory and capital asset procurement and purchasing experience is an asset Requirements: · Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada · Must have a valid driver's license · Must live within 3 hours of Virden, Manitoba If interested, please visit our career page at www.rfnow.com/careers. Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in inventory and capital asset accounting and a high level of proficiency with Excel. Knowledge of NetSuite and procurement experience are considered assets.
