We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a 3-month contract basis and support key accounting and financial reporting activities. Position Summary The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with Canadian accounting standards, and support month-end and year-end close processes. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who can quickly contribute in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations. • Prepare and review financial statements and management reports. • Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and regulatory requirements. • Review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. • Monitor cash flow and assist with treasury activities. • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. • Assist with internal and external audits. • Ensure accurate GST/HST filings and statutory reporting. • Identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen internal controls. • Collaborate with operational leaders to provide financial insights. • Provide guidance and support to accounting staff as required. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • CPA designation (completed or in progress) preferred. • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience. • Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles and financial reporting. • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Experience • Experience in transportation, logistics, construction, industrial services, or similar industries is considered an asset. • Experience supporting audits and multi-entity financial reporting. Working Arrangement Hybrid work model with a combination of remote and on-site work as required. 3-month contract position with potential extension based on business needs.

The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with Canadian standards. Key duties include managing the general ledger, supporting month-end close processes, and providing financial insights to operational leaders.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience. A CPA designation and proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel are preferred.
