As an AP/Accounting Clerk, you will be working under the direction of the Accounting Manager. Your primary responsibilities will be completing full-cycle accounts payable, bank and cash reconciliations, preparing and posting adjusting journal entries, and analyzing and reconciling multiple general ledger accounts. *Job Duties:* * Review, verify, and process vendor invoices * Process weekly EFT accounts payable runs * Perform weekly cash and bank reconciliations * Communicate regularly with store management on cash discrepancies, including cash over/short and missing deposits * Monitor daily bank deposit activity for all locations * Reconciling monthly financial information, including cash, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, fixed assets, and other related accounts * Complete month-end and year-end account reconciliations * Prepare month-end and year-end adjusting journal entries * Prepare and submit reports required by regulatory and governmental agencies (such as Statistics Canada and HST Filing) * Perform ad-hoc tasks and special projects as required. Requirements: * Minimum two years experience working in accounting, with an emphasis on cash and bank reconciliations or accounts payable * *Experience in Microsoft Excel is essential for success in this role, specifically, using VLOOKUPs, creating PivotTables, understanding formulas, and running macros* * Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills * Adept problem solver and an eye for detail and accuracy * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team * Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with colleagues from different departments and restaurants * Must have reliable access to transportation * Onsite attendance during probational period; Hybrid (2-4 days a week onsite) afterwards * Must be legally eligible to work in Canada *What we offer* * Base annual salary: $50,000-60,000 * Annual bonus program (up to 7.5%) * Comprehensive benefits program * RRSP-matching program * Opportunities for growth and development * A fun work environment working with leading brands We are an equal opportunity employer that hires talent regardless of age, race, creed, colour, religion, national origin, ancestry, marital status, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, nationality, sex, or any other legally protected grounds and will not discriminate on these bases.
