Join Our Team! Pacific Coastal Airlines is looking for a Permanent Full Time Revenue Accountant based at the South Terminal of Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in Richmond, BC. The Revenue Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of Pacific Coastal Airlines' passenger, ancillary, and interline revenue accounting processes. This position reconciles revenue from multiple sales channels, supports interline billing and settlement activities, assists with month-end financial reporting, analyzes revenue trends, and works closely with internal departments, external service providers, and industry partners to resolve discrepancies. The Revenue Accountant plays an important role in maintaining strong financial controls, supporting revenue growth initiatives, and ensuring timely and accurate revenue reporting. Key Responsibilities Revenue Accounting Reconcile daily passenger revenue from sales channels, including reservation systems, online bookings, travel agencies, interline partners, and airport sales. Record and reconcile ancillary revenues, including baggage fees, seat selection fees, change fees, charter revenue, and other applicable revenue streams. Prepare journal entries related to passenger and ancillary revenue. Reconcile deferred revenue, unearned transportation revenue, and flown revenue. Monitor revenue recognition to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. Investigate and resolve revenue discrepancies with internal departments and external vendors. Interline Accounting & Settlements Review and reconcile interline receivable and payable balances. Analyze interline settlement reports and support documentation. Review billing memos, debit memos, credit memos, rejection notices, and related support. Investigate and resolve interline revenue discrepancies with industry partners and service providers. Monitor aging interline balances and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items. Support the accurate recording and reconciliation of interline revenue transactions. Assist with compliance with applicable industry revenue accounting standards and settlement requirements. Financial Reporting Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare revenue reconciliations and supporting working papers. Analyze revenue trends and variances. Prepare reports for management on passenger revenue performance. Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation. Prepare revenue analytics and KPI reporting for management. Assist with forecasting and analysis relating to passenger and interline revenue trends. Operational Collaboration Work closely with: Commercial and Revenue Management Customer Service and Reservations Airport Operations External revenue accounting service providers IT Airline and distribution partners Assist with implementation and testing of new revenue systems or enhancements. Support revenue accounting requirements during system upgrades and operational changes. Compliance Ensure compliance with: ASPE Company financial policies Regulatory reporting requirements Audit standards Support compliance with applicable airline industry settlement and reporting requirements. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or related discipline. CPA designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset. Experience 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience. Previous revenue accounting experience preferred. Airline, transportation, or travel industry experience is considered a strong asset. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting. Experience with revenue accounting, settlement reconciliations, customer liabilities, deferred revenue, or interline accounting is considered an asset. Familiarity with airline reservation systems, settlement environments, or revenue accounting platforms is considered an asset. Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of accounting principles and revenue recognition. Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience working with large data sets. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to identify trends and investigate discrepancies. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP, AmeliaRES, or similar accounting and reservation systems is considered an asset. Why Pacific Coastal Airlines?
