About the Company Our client is a growing Canadian mining and resource development company focused on advancing high-quality exploration and development projects. As the organization continues to grow, they are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior-Intermediate Corporate Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations and help ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where they can take ownership of the accounting function and contribute across multiple areas of the business. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting Perform monthly bank reconciliations using QuickBooks. Prepare and assist with monthly and quarterly government remittances and reporting, including PD7A, HST, Employer Health Tax (EHT), Workers' Compensation, and other statutory requirements. Maintain payroll records and support payroll administration. Process cheques and electronic payments. Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communications. Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date financial records. Generate financial reports using QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop. Maintain and improve accounting process documentation and vendor records. Establish and maintain organized digital and physical filing systems. Track financial and operational KPIs to support monthly reporting and management analysis. Assist with month-end close activities and other accounting functions as required. Support additional accounting and finance projects as assigned. Additional Responsibilities Perform general administrative duties, including organizing and maintaining company documentation. Handle sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making. Effectively manage multiple priorities while working independently with minimal supervision. Participate in process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Occasional travel to operating sites may be required. Qualifications Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 2–5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop. Strong understanding of Canadian payroll, HST, and government remittance requirements. Experience managing accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end processes. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Experience within mining, natural resources, construction, or other project-based industries is considered an asset.
