Senior Accountant, External Financial Advisory Services

As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide comprehensive, tailored financial information that enables clients to make informed decisions with confidence. Responsibilities * Work closely with clients to assess their accounting systems and assist in delivering tailored capacity-building initiatives * Assist with reviewing client full-cycle accounting practices to create a strategic plan for growth, capacity development, and financial literacy * Support activities related to external financing, system implementations, and chart of accounts setup * Deliver hands-on training in accounting functions including assisting the client with audit preparation * Prepare finance policies and process maps, prepare recommended amendments as required * Provide training on general matters such as payroll, GST/PST, and T4 filing * Facilitate project updates to Management and Leadership * Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary Skills and Experience * A degree or diploma in Business Administration or Accounting * CPA designation preferred * Minimum 3 years of relevant experience * Strong knowledge of accounting principles and organizational finance * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills * Experience working with Indigenous communities is a strong asset Vancouver Island@MNP Discover more about the unique elements and lifestyle at MNP on Vancouver Island through our team member videos, community insights and current opportunities here: https://www.mnp.ca/en/careers/the-flexibility-you-need-when-life-gets-busy. The annual salary for this position is $68,000 to $90,000. Compensation is based on location, individual skills and relevant experience. You will work closely with clients to assess accounting systems, deliver capacity-building initiatives, and provide tailored financial information. Additionally, you will support external financing, system implementations, and provide training on payroll and tax filings.

Candidates should possess a degree or diploma in Business Administration or Accounting, with a CPA designation preferred. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and strong knowledge of accounting principles are required.
