About the Company Mikelle Search Group has partnered with a privately held, multi-entity organization to recruit a Director of Accounting. This senior leadership position will oversee financial reporting and accounting operations across a diverse group of Canadian and international businesses. About the Role Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Accounting will work closely with senior leadership and divisional finance teams to strengthen reporting, controls, forecasting and financial processes. The successful candidate will be a hands-on and commercially minded finance leader who is comfortable operating in a complex, entrepreneurial environment. Responsibilities Lead the preparation, consolidation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements across multiple entities. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning and variance analysis. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Develop and monitor financial benchmarks, operational KPIs and performance reporting. Provide financial modelling and analysis to support strategic and operational decisions. Strengthen internal controls across accounting, payroll, inventory, intercompany transactions and transfer pricing. Coordinate annual audits, tax filings and external reporting requirements. Oversee multi-entity cash-flow forecasting, banking relationships and credit facilities. Support treasury, financing, capital allocation and other corporate initiatives. Lead, mentor and develop finance leaders and accounting team members across the organization. Partner with operational leaders to provide financial guidance and commercially focused recommendations. Drive ERP optimization, automation and financial process improvements. Standardize reporting frameworks, policies and workflows across the organization. Participate in strategic planning and special projects alongside the executive leadership team. Qualifications Canadian CPA designation required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline. Approximately 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience. Previous experience as a Controller, Corporate Controller or Director within a complex organization. Strong technical knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, consolidations and multi-entity reporting. Experience working across multiple business units, subsidiaries or jurisdictions. Proven experience with ERP optimization, implementation or financial systems integration. Strong leadership, communication and analytical capabilities. A practical, collaborative and solutions-oriented approach. Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, asset-intensive or similarly complex environment is considered an asset. Must be eligible to work in Canada. Some travel to other company locations may be required.

Exigences

Requires a Canadian CPA designation and a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 7–10 years of progressive experience. Candidates should have a proven track record as a Controller or Director in a complex, multi-entity environment, preferably within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
