Your Impact at LAURIN As an Accountant, you’ll help ensure the organization’s financial operations run smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. Your work will support timely and reliable financial reporting, effective accounts payable processes, and strong internal controls. You’ll work closely with the Controller and accounting team to support reporting requirements and maintain consistent, high-quality financial practices. Key Responsibilities Assist the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliation. Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements. Prepare outgoing payments, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. Monitor and reconcile accounts payable ledgers to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted. Foster strong relationships with vendors, ensuring timely communication while addressing any concerns or disputes. Oversee month/year end close. Assist in preparation of monthly sales tax filings. Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries as required. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial analysis as required. Review credit card statements. Assist with contract risk assessment. Assist with the year-end financial statement review. Assist in special projects led by the Controller and Director of Administration. Conduct periodic audits of internal processes. Work collaboratively in a team-environment. Qualifications 2–5 years of experience in accounting or a related field is considered an asset. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles. Experience supervising or providing guidance to junior accounting staff. Experience with general ledger management and account reconciliations. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for complex financial issues. Effective communication with management, auditors, vendors, and stakeholders. Knowledge of financial rules and regulations relevant to the construction industry. Ability to maintain confidential and highly sensitive information. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to effectively manage multiple deadlines. Knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with CMiC is considered a strong asset. Education & Professional Credentials Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline. CPA designation or working towards designation is considered an asset. Estimated Compensation The salary range for this role is $60,000 — $90,000 based on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed in your personalized offer.
