This role is responsible for supporting tax compliance, planning, reporting, and audit activities for a group of companies operating across Canada and the United States. The successful candidate will bring strong corporate tax expertise, a solid understanding of both Canadian and U.S. tax regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively with finance, accounting, and executive leadership teams. Responsibilities Prepare and review corporate, partnership, and/or individual tax returns for companies operating in Canada and the United States Prepare MACRS depreciation calculations and related tax schedules to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Manage sales tax, excise tax, rail car tax, and property tax filings across multiple jurisdictions Assist with tax provisions (ASC 740) and related financial reporting requirements Calculate and process Canadian and U.S. federal, state, and provincial tax installment payments, including appropriate jurisdictional allocations Support tax audits by gathering documentation, preparing schedules, and responding to inquiries Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the potential impact on the organization Collaborate with accounting and finance teams on tax-related matters and compliance requirements Conduct tax research and provide guidance on complex tax issues Identify opportunities for tax savings, efficiencies, and process improvements Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership, including the Controller, CFO, and executive team Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field CPA designation required 4–7+ years of relevant tax experience in public practice and/or industry Experience & Skills Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. tax regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting obligations Experience preparing corporate tax returns and managing multi-jurisdictional tax filings Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards; U.S. GAAP knowledge is considered an asset Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications Experience with accounting and tax software Experience with Dynamics AX or Dynamics 365 is considered an asset Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Excellent communication and collaboration skills Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and integrity Ability to travel to the United States as required What Our Client Offers Competitive compensation package Opportunity to work with a diverse group of Canadian and U.S. entities Collaborative and supportive team environment Career growth and professional development opportunities Stable, established organization with long-term growth potential We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
