<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><strong><strong>About the Role</strong></strong></p><p>This position is primarily focused on assurance services, including audit and review engagements, with occasional exposure to compilation engagements, corporate and personal tax, and other client advisory work.</p><p>You will have the opportunity to lead engagements, work closely with clients, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the continued growth of both our clients and our firm.</p><p>If you're looking for a role where you'll gain meaningful responsibility, work directly with partners, and build your career in a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you.</p><p><strong><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></strong></p><p>As a Senior Accountant, you will:</p><ul><li>Plan and execute audit and review engagements from planning through completion</li><li>Lead fieldwork assignments, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating engagement resources</li><li>Prepare and review working paper files and financial statements</li><li>Perform assurance procedures with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism</li><li>Identify accounting, audit, and financial reporting issues and develop practical solutions</li><li>Work directly with clients to understand their operations, answer questions, and provide exceptional client service</li><li>Present engagement findings and communicate results to senior management and partners</li><li>Mentor, train, and support junior team members while reviewing their work</li><li>Assist with the preparation of corporate and personal income tax returns as required</li><li>Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, confidentiality, and client service</li></ul><p><strong><strong>Qualifications</strong></strong></p><p>The ideal candidate will have:</p><ul><li>An accounting degree</li><li>Actively pursuing the CPA designation</li><li>At least 12 months of public accounting experience, preferably with assurance engagements</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management abilities</li><li>A desire to learn, take ownership of work, and continuously develop professionally</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, CaseWare, CaseView, and TaxPrep is considered an asset</li><li>Willingness to travel occasionally to client locations</li></ul><p><strong><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></strong></p><ul><li>Annual Salary Range - $65,000 to $75,000 (salary will reach the higher end of the range upon confirmation of successful results from the CFE)</li><li>Bonus compensation of $2,500 upon passing the CFE</li><li>Comprehensive benefits package</li><li>Travel to work reimbursement of up to $600 per calendar year</li><li>Health and fitness reimbursement of up to $600 per calendar year</li><li>Annual CPA dues paid for upon obtaining CPA designation</li><li>Firm-paid professional development and continuing education</li><li>Performance bonus program upon obtaining CPA designation</li></ul></div>Company Description<div>Jones & O'Connell LLP, Chartered Professional Accountants is a licensed public accounting firm based out of St. Catharines, Ontario, servicing the Niagara Region, GTA and beyond, offering a wide range of financial services to clients in the Niagara Region and GTA.<br><br>See <span class="long-word">www.jonesoconnell.ca</span> for further information</div></div><h3>Company Description</h3><div>Jones & O'Connell LLP, Chartered Professional Accountants is a licensed public accounting firm based out of St. Catharines, Ontario, servicing the Niagara Region, GTA and beyond, offering a wide range of financial services to clients in the Niagara Region and GTA.\r\n\r\nSee www.jonesoconnell.ca for further information</div>
