Jayce LLP is seeking an Intermediate Staff Accountant to join our growing public accounting practice. The successful candidate will work closely with managers and partners to deliver high-quality accounting, assurance, and tax services to a diverse client base. This role is ideal for a motivated CPA candidate or newly designated CPA who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is committed to providing exceptional client service. Key Responsibilities Prepare Notice to Reader (Compilation) and Review Engagement financial statements. Assist with audit engagements for private companies and not-for-profit organizations. Prepare corporate (T2), personal (T1), partnership (T5013), and trust tax returns. Prepare GST/HST, payroll, and other government filings. Perform bookkeeping and account reconciliations as required. Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies. Communicate directly with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting and tax issues. Assist with tax planning and year-end planning engagements. Support managers on client engagements. Maintain organized and accurate working paper files. Stay current with changes in accounting standards and Canadian tax legislation. Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration. CPA designation in progress or recently completed. 2–4 years of experience in a Canadian public accounting firm. Experience preparing Compilation and Review Engagement files. Working knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE). Experience preparing T1 and T2 tax returns. Familiarity with Quickbook, CaseWare, CaseView, TaxPrep, Profile, or similar accounting and tax software. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines during busy season while maintaining accuracy. Commitment to providing outstanding client service. Preferred Qualifications Experience with audit engagements. Knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Sage, Xero, or other cloud-based accounting platforms. Experience working with owner-managed businesses and small to medium-sized enterprises. Experience with CRA correspondence and tax notices. Location: Hybrid (Office/Remote) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary:$66,000 – $78,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus a comprehensive benefits package.)
