Description Carry out FLOCERT audits against Fairtrade International Trade Standards in North America (United States and Canada) for various products. Freelance[1] based on mutual agreement and number of available audits Location of audits: United States and Canada Required Languages: English and French (advanced Spanish is desirable) The audit fee depends upon qualifications and experience Auditor training will be provided by FLOCERT Start date: as soon as possible Resident of the United States or Canada [1] All auditors of FLOCERT have to be free of any commercial or other interests which could possibly influence or be seen to influence their motivation to always act in the best interest of FLOCERT and would hence have to sign a Conflict of Interest declaration. Your responsibilities Performing Fairtrade audits of manufacturing and trading companies[2] in North America Scheduling of audits as requested by FLOCERT in annual audit plan and in coordination with Fairtrade customers Completion of audit reports within given timelines, including identification of all relevant non-conformities in a clear and complete format Participate in regular mandatory trainings [2] Trader audits include audits of importers, processors/manufacturers, distributors and licensees Your qualifications, experience and skills University level education (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (Economics, Agriculture, Accounting, Food Science, Agronomy, etc.). At least 2 years of experience in auditing (e.g. Fairtrade, organic, ISO 9001:2000, SA8000, ISO 14001, Financial audits, Rainforest Alliance) Fluent French and English level, both oral and written Excellent communication skills and customer orientation Affinity to numbers and data analysis Ability to work independently Ability to be assertive, unbiased, and impartial in a customer service-oriented environment High flexibility, reliability and availability to travel in North America Motivation for Fairtrade Business experience in the trading sector Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Power BI Advanced Spanish level, both oral and written Experience in working with manufacturers/processors, importers, licensees Background in agriculture, food science or food technology Technical knowledge of the products: Coffee, Cocoa, Banana, Fruits, Herbs & Spices, etc. Knowledge of one or more of the following certification schemes: Fairtrade, Organic, ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 How to apply Apply directly via our careers page: Careers - FLOCERT
