About the role: Financeit is looking to add an Accounting Co-op Student to our Finance team! We’re looking for a student who understands the basics of day-to-day accounting and is eager to build real, hands-on experience. Advanced Excel skills are essential, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize what matters. The right person is curious, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys finding smarter, more efficient ways to tackle problems. Fall 2026 Co-op term: 4 month or 8 month co-op available (September start) Working hours: Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Working location: In office 2-3 days a week at 8 Spadina Ave, Suite 2400, Toronto, ON M5V 0S8 What you’ll do: Post daily journal entries. Reconcile bank accounts and loan portfolios. Support the preparation of lender reporting. Assist with the full-cycle accounts payable process. Help with month-end close, including accruals, financial reporting and ad hoc analysis. Maintain the capital assets ledger and continuity schedule. Assist with the annual audit. Take on additional tasks or special projects focused on efficiency and cost savings. Currently enrolled in a 3rd, or 4th year university program. Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIF). Working toward or planning to pursue a CPA designation. Solid understanding of GAAP and day-to-day accounting principles. Experience in audit, treasury, or compliance is an asset. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Takes initiative, is organized, accountable, and always looking for more efficient ways to get work done. General understanding of lending and credit.
