Controller (Accounting Manager Considered) Our client is a well-established, privately owned transportation company with more than 40 years of success. Recognized for its financial stability, collaborative culture, and long-tenured employees, the company is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting function and support the continued success of the business. Reporting directly to the President, you'll oversee the day-to-day accounting operations while providing timely financial reporting, supporting an experienced accounting team, and partnering with ownership to help drive informed business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Controller or a strong Accounting Manager ready to step into a Controller role. What You'll Do Lead the organization's full accounting function from daily operations through month-end and year-end close Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and management reports Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, general ledger, and cash management Monitor cash flow, bank balances, and U.S. dollar transactions Ensure compliance with payroll, tax, WSIB, EHT, T4, and other government reporting requirements Coordinate year-end reporting and work closely with external accountants during the audit process Reconcile data integrations between accounting and operational systems Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for ownership Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures Lead, mentor, and support an experienced accounting team Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and strengthen accounting processes What We're Looking For Experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or in a similar senior accounting role Strong experience managing the full accounting cycle Proven experience preparing monthly financial statements Experience with month-end and year-end close Payroll, cash management, and general ledger experience Experience leading or mentoring accounting staff Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles and financial reporting Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively with ownership and leadership Strong accounting software proficiency and the ability to learn new systems quickly Preferred Qualifications Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA designation is considered an asset Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software Transportation or logistics industry experience is considered an asset but is not required Why Join This Opportunity? Exigences

Requires experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager with a strong grasp of the full accounting cycle and Canadian accounting principles. A post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA designation are preferred.
