More Info including staff perks can be found at: https://www.skicastle.ca/employment/ Position Overview: Castle Mountain Resort is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you'll play a key part in the financial health of the resort, supporting the preparation and distribution of financial reports (actual and budget), overseeing general ledger review, contributing to budgeting and financial modelling, assisting with audits, managing fixed assets, and leading month-end close processes, along with other duties as required. This is a full-time, year-round position, offering the opportunity to grow with a dynamic, close-knit team in the beautiful South Canadian Rocky Mountains! What We Offer You: Full mountain season passes for employees and dependents Several employee discounts around the resort Health and dental benefits (after 3 months of continuous employment) Salary to commensurate with experience 30 to 40 hours/week Responsibilities: Lead the development, analysis, reporting, and interpretation of financial and operating information in terms of profitability and performance. Work with department managers and staff to better understand their operations financial and operating performance; budgeting, forecasts, and actuals General ledger responsibilities (including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and suggestions for improvement) Review and reconcile various balance sheet accounts monthly On occasion, assist the payroll accountant with various payroll functions and reporting Assist with preparation of year-end audit working papers and spreadsheets Complete government reporting and surveys Assist with establishing procedures for safeguarding assets, including security and computer backup Work with the Director of Finance to maintain policy and procedure documentation for financial and accounting issues Have current knowledge of regulatory changes that might impact Castle Qualifications: Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills; able to build and maintain lasting relationships with all team members Finance or accounting degree and 2-5 years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered CPA designation considered an asset General understanding of computerized accounting systems including Sage 300 and point of sale systems Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly communicate issues to all team members Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Core Competencies: Quality Orientation Time Management Creative and Innovative Thinking Development and Continual Learning Problem Solving Accountability and Dependability Research and Analysis Decision Making and Judgement Ethics and Integrity Planning and Organizing Mathematical Reasoning Mediating and Negotiating Communication – verbal & written Positive and Energetic Approach Effective Team Contributor Where We Are: Castle Mountain Resort is located at the end of Highway 774, near Pincher Creek, AB. This is a remote work location. There is a communal living Staff Accommodation building on-site for new and returning non-supervisory, seasonal employees.
