Résumé du poste

About Business360.CPA Business360.CPA is a focused, senior-led accounting and advisory firm based in Burnaby’s Brentwood area. We serve owner-managed businesses, not-for-profit organizations and internationally connected entrepreneurs establishing and building businesses in Canada. Our varied work includes Canadian and selected U.S. tax, accounting and financial reporting, a limited number of assurance engagements, strategic finance, and practical advisory and implementation. We do more than make recommendations — we help clients put solutions into practice. As a small firm, we offer broad exposure, direct client contact and increasing responsibility. Everyone is expected to think critically, contribute ideas and take ownership of their work. The opportunity We are seeking an experienced intermediate accountant who can take ownership of Canadian tax, accounting and reporting work, communicate directly with clients and move assignments forward. The role also provides opportunities to develop broader involvement in assurance, strategic finance, advisory and implementation matters. Technology is part of how our small team works. You will use approved AI and automation tools to research issues, organize information, identify questions, develop ideas, prepare first drafts and improve workflows. Professional judgment remains essential: you must question assumptions, verify information, protect client confidentiality and recognize when senior review is required. We want someone who moves work forward. When an assignment is unclear, you should investigate it, identify the important questions and propose a reasonable next step. What you’ll do • Prepare Canadian personal and corporate tax returns and selected U.S. filings. • Prepare year-end accounting, compilation and financial-reporting files. • Support a limited number of review and audit engagements. • Contribute to management reporting, strategic-finance, international-business and practical implementation projects. • Communicate directly with clients and manage information requests and follow-up. • Use approved AI and automation tools to research, analyze and advance substantive work while critically reviewing and verifying outputs. • Investigate issues, ask the right questions and propose practical next steps. • Document and improve workflows, controls and procedures. • Take ownership of assigned work while escalating significant issues appropriately. What we’re looking for • At least three years of relevant professional accounting experience. • Canadian public-practice experience strongly preferred. • Hands-on experience with Canadian tax, year-end accounting or financial-reporting files. Experience with audit, review, compilation or owner-managed businesses is an asset. • Sound accounting knowledge and professional judgment. • Demonstrated ability to use AI, automation or other technology to improve substantive work. • Initiative to investigate problems and propose solutions. • Strong organization and client communication skills. • Legal authorization to work in Canada. We cannot provide immigration sponsorship. CPA candidates, experienced non-designated accountants, ACCA members or candidates, and U.S. CPAs are welcome. Advisory, implementation, international business, U.S. tax or additional-language experience — particularly Japanese — is an asset. What we offer • Salary of $68,000–$82,000, based on directly relevant capabilities and experience. • Three weeks’ vacation and an extended health plan. • CPA program or professional-development support. • Broad exposure across tax, accounting, reporting, limited assurance and advisory work. • Direct client contact and increasing responsibility as your capabilities develop. • An opportunity to help shape practical solutions, systems and technology-enabled workflows in a modern small firm. • Burnaby’s Brentwood area as the primary work location, with at least three days on-site each week and some hybrid flexibility. This is an experienced intermediate role with meaningful client responsibility and room for increasing responsibility as capabilities develop. How to apply Submit your résumé and briefly answer both questions: Describe one substantive task you completed using AI, automation or another technology. How did you review the result? Describe a time you received an unclear assignment. How did you identify the right questions and move the work forward? Applications without both responses will not be reviewed.
