Senior Accountant Toronto, ON (hybrid - 2-3 days in office - Mon and Tues and a floating day) 6 Months (potential for extension/conversion to FTE) Line of Business - Finance Controllership Job Summary: As a member of the Finance Controllership team, You are accountable for the integrity of the loan ledgers and amounts reported in the financial reporting systems. The Senior Manager/SFA oversees accounting activities throughout the month such as loan accounting advisory, investigation of accounting and/or process issues, reconciliation, and other accounting related activities as required. In addition, there are month-end close responsibilities and ad hoc requests as issues arise during the close. Key Responsibilities: Review and manage loan accounting activities Perform reconciliations and support month-end close Investigate accounting discrepancies and resolve reporting issues Analyze financial results and explain variances Support process improvement initiatives Must-Have: 5+ years of experience in Financial Services (Banking preferred) Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables; VBA/macros a plus) Experience investigating accounting or process issues Comfortable working with large data sets Strong attention to detail Nice to Have: Experience with lending products, interest calculations, or loan provisions Knowledge of SAP/Oracle or other GL systems CPA (or pursuing) with IFRS knowledge ACBS system exposure
