Résumé du poste
Lead. Influence. Make an Impact. Are you an experienced accounting professional who enjoys leading people just as much as leading the numbers? Aplin has partnered with a well-established and highly respected Saskatchewan organization in the transportation and service industry to recruit an Accounting & Payroll Manager. This is an outstanding opportunity to join an entrepreneurial leadership team where your ideas are valued, your contributions make a difference, and you'll have the opportunity to help shape the future of the finance function. If you're looking for more than "just another accounting job" and want to be part of a collaborative, hardworking team that genuinely enjoys working together, we'd love to hear from you. About the Opportunity Reporting to senior leadership, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting and payroll functions while leading a dedicated accounting team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance technical accounting responsibilities with coaching, mentoring, process improvement, and partnering with leaders across the organization. You'll play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting while continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen processes, and support operational decision-making. What You'll Be Doing Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team. Oversee full-cycle accounting, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and General Ledger activities. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare financial reports and provide insights to support business decisions. Coordinate year-end activities with external accountants and auditors. Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and efficiencies. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Build strong working relationships throughout the organization while providing responsive support to internal stakeholders. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys leading by example and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. You will bring: A minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities. Experience with full-cycle accounting and payroll. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting best practices. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. A passion for mentoring others and building strong teams. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. A continuous improvement mindset and a desire to make processes better. CPA designation is considered an asset but is not required. Equivalent education and experience will also be considered. Why You'll Want This Opportunity This organization has built a reputation for working hard, supporting one another, and creating an environment where employees genuinely enjoy coming to work. You'll become part of an entrepreneurial leadership team that values collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and open communication. Your ideas will be heard, your contributions will have a direct impact on the business, and you'll have the opportunity to grow your career while helping build a stronger finance function.
